trans amSounds like the music that would be playing behind an intro montage for a public-access show for nerdy kids. Maybe there would be a robot arm moving a rainbow or something. Probably something more bland, like a light-bulb going on and then bad computer animation of an assembly-line. Trans Am continue to play music that a lot of people like but barely anyone can really love because it's so middle-of-the-road. It's the perfect kind of thing to listen to in the office of an architecture design firm. I get the feel that they probably had a sense of humor about the music they were making when they started, but that it's getting a little too serious... It's not bad by any means, but the sterility doesn't seem to have the purpose it does in other instrumental music and the rocking-out seems pretty fun and all, but - well. You can only go so far with this kind of thing and I wish it had ended in the late 90s. A lot of average buildings are probably being designed as we speak. :: Trans Am: Sex Change - Thrill Jockey/Rough Trade
